Exhibition Night
illustrating the information learned about caves
by Phoenix kids PK-8th

You are cordially invited to attend Exhibition Night where works created by Phoenix School students of all ages will be exhibited. Come view the trip journals, talk with the travelers, explore our own common area turned cave.

Each spring the older students (usually 5th-8th grade) take an exciting travel-study trip to explore the world in context of the curriculum they have been studying. This year, travelers took to the air to arrive in Indiana and Kentucky to become speleologists first hand. Phoenix explorers are required to keep a journal to illustrate through drawings and creative writings their unique experiences. The end products, their journals and our cave are more than works of art. They are special memories embedded with a deep understanding of cave life; its creatures, formations and place in our history.

Similarly, Phoenix PK-4th graders take a simulated trip themselves, following closely the experiences of our older travelers in their imaginations, experiences all the wonders of life in a cave. Come see our bats flying, troglobites and more.

Combining the research, journals and other projects along the way, Phoenix kids take pride in exhibiting their accomplishments after a challenging and exciting two weeks. Come and see for yourself how Phoenix kids learn through experience and teach you about how much they now know about the unusual and exciting environment of caves.

All ages are welcome to come and learn!
