Ray Crane lives on Cape Ann where he has first hand opportunity to observe the vintage sailing vessels, harbors and coves that have inspired American artists for centuries. His marine paintings reflect his interest in New England's maritime heritage. Through his tranquil painting style he instills a greater appreciation for the past and shows the enduring influence of the past in our life today while suffusing his paintings with a quiet calm that provides a peaceful respite from the hectic pace of today.
