Artist Statement
I have a deep-rooted love of comparative mythology, folklore, and cycles of legend, which inspires the subjects of much of my work. My vision is profoundly feminist, gender-fluid, and queer, celebrating multiple cultures in local settings. My landscapes, seascapes and nature themes take on some of this sense of wonder and imagination. I strive to render my subjects in colors evocative of the sense of mystery in each tale. I have a particular affinity for water, particularly the sea, and how it reflects different sources and qualities of light.
