I am Zoe Jansen, a 20 year old artist going to school at Salem State University. I am getting my Bachelors degree in photography but that doesn't mean I only work with that medium. Drawing, painting, sewing, and sculpting are just some of the things that I like to do. My passion for art started when I started drawing portraits of people and their animals. I still draw a lot today but that beginning has lead me on a long path of finding photography as my passion.
Artist Statement
My art is used to empower and give some new found confidence to people. The reason why I do this work is to make people happy and see peoples' faces light up when they see their true beauty captured in a photo. We all pick and poke and don't feel good enough but when you put people in front of a camera and make them feel pretty and seen, their true light shines through.
