Artist Bio or Résumé
Al Noce is an artist from Las Vegas who has since moved around the country and abroad since he left. He is a resident of Salem and has settled down to live here for a good few years and continue making art while going to school full-time. His art is often based on nature and inspired by books he's reading but he also does many commissioned works. From illustrating children's books, to making zines, drawing landscapes, painting portraits and murals, Al has a diverse body of work and wide skillset.
Artist Statement
What motivates me to be creative is probably that I unwind with art. I often feel as though a coil is unwinding through the lines I am putting down. I must admit that much of my art in recent times has been fueled by the financial need to simply survive but I am trying to strike to the balance between my enjoyment of commissioned work and the work-aspect of it. I think I have been very successful i this but would like to create much more original art from my own prompting once again.
